Intimate Summer Wedding Boston Public Library

It was another hot August day as we prepared for an intimate summer wedding at Boston Public Library. This summer has been an interesting one to say the least, but that didn’t stop Nikki and Devlin from tying the knot. Their large scale wedding was downsized to just 12 guests who witnessed them saying their vows. If you’ve never been to Boston Public Library, I highly recommend it - it’s a gorgeous space with high ceilings and the courtyard is stunning with a water fountain in the middle. It’s a perfect space for an intimate summer wedding.

Devlin is a friend of mine from college and when he reached out to me to capture their wedding ceremony, I couldn’t feel more honored to do so. A quiet and reserved person, Devlin carries himself with such grace and greets you with kind smiles. Nikki compliments Devlin with her extroverted personality and contagious laughter. Looking at these two, you can immediately see why they’re such an amazing couple; they both ground each other, and for whatever one might not have, the other fills in.

Nikki chose a simple, yet elegant wedding dress to say “I Do” in that was accompanied by a long, sweeping cape. Devlin chose to wear a minimal tuxedo; classic and timeless. Both of their looks complimented the space of BPL so well. The gorgeous space of the courtyard combined with the sunny, summer day made for a perfect ceremony day.

There is something special about having a smaller, intimate wedding. Nikki and Devlin were able to enjoy their meal, chat with their family and friends, and truly soak it all in together. Their wedding has taught me that weddings come in all forms, but the purpose is still the same: celebrating the love two people share.
