FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
+ My partner doesn’t like photos, is that okay?
OH, I LOVE getting to know my couples so when your wedding day or session comes, you feel comfortable around me. Using a mix of prompts and poses, this helps to achieve a gallery full of unique/raw moments and photos worthy of printing for mom and dad (and grandma). I’ll even create a custom playlist for you so we can have a dance party during your wedding or session. Not feeling like dancing? No worries - I’ll dig deep to ask you intentional questions throughout the day to find what speaks to you both so those more serious and intimate moments don’t go undocumented.
+ What is the process, should we decide to move forward?
Aww yeah, let’s get partying! To secure your wedding date, a $800 retainer and signed contract are required. To make this smoother for you, I use an online system that allows you to sign your contract and make payments online (securely, of course) - all in one place! Your remaining balance is split into two payments: 50% due 3 months prior to your wedding and remaining 50% due 1 month prior to your wedding.
For portrait sessions, a retainer fee of 50% of the balance and a signed contract will secure your date. Again, all of this is done online for your convenience! Your remaining balance is due 1 week before your session.
+ Can I add on to packages later and start with the basics?
ABSOLUTELY. When you are booking me a year or more out, I understand how it can be challenging to know what you might need without having a full day-of timeline in place. You can add on to your package up to 30 days prior to the wedding. As your photographer, I offer my consultations and planning assistance for your day-of timeline and can work with your wedding planner, should you have one. Organization is one of my favorite things ever!
+ Do you meet with people before booking?
It depends. I love to chat with my couples and clients over the phone or via Google Hangouts to get a better understanding of what you’re looking for in a photographer and what type of coverage you want. Sometimes people can only have a phone call and sometimes others prefer a video chat. Either way, we will definitely talk on the phone at least once so you’re not surprised by my squeaky voice in person (HAHA)
+ Have you ever shot at our venue before? Does that make a difference?
Maybe yes, maybe no - whatever the answer, I’ll know what I need to know! I am versed in working with all types of light (outdoor natural light or low light situations). What I like to do is show up 30 minutes - 1 hour prior to your wedding and scout out the location surrounding your ceremony and venue. If we’re traveling to a spot that isn’t nearby either, don’t worry - I’ll scout those spots out prior to your day. Every venue has its unique characteristics and I love being able to find new ways to create something unique and amazing for my couples.
+ What if you get sick or can’t show up to our wedding?
We’re all human. I’m human, too, and sometimes these things happen! I am well connected to many photographer communities and always keep a list of photographers on hand to refer to you. IF I feel I am becoming sick or have an unexpected emergency/event, I will contact you, reassure you that someone I trust will come cover your day. I’ll be sure to follow up with you to make sure all went well and as expected. If at any point you feel something is off or not going right, I promise you the photographers I refer to you will LOVE if you communicate with them and voice your concerns. I trust my photography community and trust me, you will be in great hands!
+ What if we don’t want our photos to be shared on your website?
I respect your privacy. If you opt to not having your photos shared on my website or any other social media, no biggie! I'll make sure to amend your contract with the appropriate terms!
+ Do you photoshop images?
Yes and no. When I think of Photoshopping images, I think of having to edit out certain aspects of a photo that may be distracting, retouching small blemishes, or doing composite work. Extensive photoshop like body modifications are not included in my editing services; I believe every body type is beautiful and unique. I make sure to pose and direct my couples in a way that’s the most flattering for them, their personalities, and their vision. I gotchu and we ain’t got no bad angles out here!
+ How many images do you deliver and how do I receive my images?
On an average 8 hour wedding day, I typically deliver a minimum of 500 photos. For portrait sessions, a 1-1.5 hour session will yield on average 50 photos. All galleries are delivered via private online gallery with unlimited downloads and a print release!
+ Do we receive RAW files?
No, I do not give out RAW files. I feel I need to clarify what exactly RAW files are and how photographers use them. RAW files are image files which preserve image data in its most un-edited state from the camera; these files can only be viewed with software that is able to interpret raw data. Photographers take these files and edit them with our special touches to provide the images you see on our social media and website. What you see on my portfolio is what you will receive. Remember, you’re hiring me for my expertise and putting on those final touches to create an amazing image! I promise I will do right by you!
